** Your Money

Wealthy families spend serious money on advisers to help them write mission statements—clear statements about what their money is actually for. The findings are striking. Families that align on financial purpose tend to preserve their wealth across generations. Those that don't often see fortunes disappear and relatives end up battling in court.
Here's the good news. You don't need boocoo bucks to do this. A simple one-page financial plan that clarifies your money's purpose might be the most powerful planning tool you have.
Start here. Write your family's financial mission in 2-3 sentences. What does money mean to you? What are 3-5 core values it should serve? Then align your actual spending with those values.
That's it.
Add transparency (talk about money), education (teach the next generation), and quarterly check-ins (revisit and adjust), and you've got what wealthy families pay thousands for.
The mission statement itself won't save your finances. But it will answer the question that drives better decisions. Why are we doing this?

A journalist tried a comprehensive at-home gut health program that analyzed her microbiome, blood sugar, and fat responses. The results were mixed: her gut microbiome scored poorly even though her blood sugar and fat readings were strong. The program assigns “food scores” based on how those metrics respond to what you eat, which led her to reevaluate and tweak some of her usual food choices. While the insights sparked change and weight loss, experts caution that personalized nutrition is still emerging and should be interpreted carefully.

Your brain treats written goals differently than thoughts in your head. Writing activates multiple brain regions—encoding memory, clarifying vague ideas into concrete language, and creating a physical record your mind registers as "real." Studies show people who write their goals down are significantly more likely to achieve them. The simple explanation: thinking about a goal engages imagination, but writing it tells your brain you're serious. It's why shopping lists work better than trying to remember everything—and why your biggest goals deserve the same treatment.
