Your Money
Wealthy families spend serious money on advisers to help them write mission statements—clear statements about what their money is actually for. The findings are striking. Families that align on financial purpose tend to preserve their wealth across generations. Those that don't often see fortunes disappear and relatives end up battling in court.
Here's the good news. You don't need boocoo bucks to do this. A simple one-page financial plan that clarifies your money's purpose might be the most powerful planning tool you have.
Start here. Write your family's financial mission in 2-3 sentences. What does money mean to you? What are 3-5 core values it should serve? Then align your actual spending with those values.
That's it.
Add transparency (talk about money), education (teach the next generation), and quarterly check-ins (revisit and adjust), and you've got what wealthy families pay thousands for.
The mission statement itself won't save your finances. But it will answer the question that drives better decisions. Why are we doing this?
