Because coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to dominate the news, I want to, again, focus on prevention. I am lucky to know this terrific physician and his wife, who is also a physician. Here, in the midst of the COVID-19 scare, he provides 2 very simple, effective ways to protect yourself.
1. frequent hand washing—for 30 seconds, preferred
2. wipe down all common surface areas with disinfecting wipes.
One other big misinformation…pets will not get COVID-19 but they can pass it along on their fur if petted by an infected person.

The easiest thing to do would be to buy disinfectant wipes. However, if you prefer to DIY, here’s the recipe:
* 2 cups of warm water
* ¾ cup of rubbing alcohol
* 1 TBL of liquid dish soap—Dawn preferably
* 1 roll of paper towel
Combine the 3 liquids. Place paper towel in a any container that will hold it. Pour the mixed liquid over paper towel until the paper towel has absorbed all the liquid. At this time, the cardboard core can be easily removed. Now, you have disinfectant wipes. Pull it apart and place in a plastic bag or plastic container. If you prefer, put it in a spray bottle.
