As of today, the S&P 500 is expected to report (year-over-year) earnings growth of 4.5% for the first quarter. However, companies are notorious for down-playing expectations just to blow past them with actual results. Over the past 10 years, actual earnings reported by S&P 500 companies have exceeded estimated earnings by 6.5% on average.
If reported earnings exceed current expectations by a similar margin again, this would mark the fifth straight quarter of year-over-year earnings growth above 10%. That would be welcome news to a stock market that hasn't had anything to look at for months beyond the Ukrain/Russia conflict and interest rate forecasting from the Fed.
S&P 500 likely to report earnings growth of more than 10% for fifth straight quarter (https://insight.factset.com/sp-500-likely-to-report-earnings-growth-of-more-than-10-for-fifth-straight-quarter?campaign_id=4&emc=edit_dk_20220411&instance_id=58172&nl=dealbook®i_id=139298571&segment_id=88112&te=1&user_id=27e95322319a8a87c241579872ee2e45)

Hiking isn’t simply taking a walk in the woods. It’s a great exercise to build a healthy body and mind and does have a few requirements to do it safely such as proper shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, understanding and remembering directions, and closely watching terrain, to name a few. Another great tool to have is trekking poles which will help strengthen your steps, maintain balance, help with hand swelling, and other advantages. There are a few cons, so check out this article.
