Most people frame retirement as a math problem: save enough, invest wisely, stop working, and start drawing income. That part matters, but it is only useful if it supports the life you actually want to live.
The harder question is timing. What do you want to do, who do you want to do it with, and how long will everyone involved still be healthy enough to enjoy it? Your money is finite, but so are your best travel years, your spouse’s stamina, your parents’ health, and your kids’ availability.
A good retirement plan should not just ask whether the assets can last. It should also ask when the experiences matter most. At PWM, we are not afraid to pull “retirement goals” forward into the pre-retirement years. Real planning is built around what-if scenarios, so do not be shy about testing the idea. Sometimes the most responsible answer is not to wait until everything is perfect. It is to go while you still can.

Hydration advice can get weirdly complicated in summer. Eight glasses a day, electrolytes, sparkling water, ice water, filters, bottles in the car. Suddenly, drinking water starts to feel like another thing you are supposed to optimize.
The better takeaway is simpler: pay attention to thirst, make water the default, and do not assume every hot day requires a special powder or sports drink. Most people do not need perfection. They just need a few steady habits that make staying hydrated easier.

Strange odor in your fridge? Add a box of baking soda, of course. But does it really work?
Kind of. Baking soda can help with some odors because it is mildly alkaline, which means it can neutralize certain acidic smells instead of just covering them up. But it is not a magic eraser for last week’s leftovers. The real fix is still removing the source of the smell and cleaning any spills. Baking soda just helps clean up some of what lingers after.
