*|MC_PREVIEW_TEXT|* https://preservewm.com We've been keeping up with the latest headlines... here are two of our favorites worth sharing. ** Your Money ------------------------------------------------------------ Apple | Microsoft | Amazon | Google | Facebook These are the biggest 5 companies in America and therefore the top 5 stocks in the S&P500, a size-weighted index. Combined they stand at a record 25% of the overall market. Over in the NASDAQ, which is also size-weighted and known to be more tech-heavy, these same five companies make up a staggering 38% of the index. While index investing may be a self-fulfilling prophecy as the big companies get more and more of every dollar invested in the index, it's hard to see how the indexes can continue to climb if there is ever a rotation away from these names. https://www.schwab.com/resource-center/insights/content/market-perspective Another item that caught my attention was the vaccine survey findings. The questions went like this: Would you be among the first in line to take a new COVID-19 vaccine? 1. I would take it ASAP 2. After essential workers 3. Wait a while for it to be safe 4. I will wait for the herd Click HERE (https://www.schwab.com/resource-center/insights/content/market-perspective) to compare your answer with the results from this unofficial Twitter poll. ** Your Life ------------------------------------------------------------ Here are some good safety guides as you go out: 1. Definitely wear masks and continue frequent hand-washing for a minimum of 20 seconds. You don’t need to wear gloves. 2. Recyclable bags carry little to no threat of spreading the virus, so you can still use those, as opposed to single-use plastic or paper bags. 3. There is no significant evidence of the virus traveling on cash or people catching it from food or food packaging. Just do the usual washing of fresh fruits and vegetables before preparation or direct consumption. 4. The chance of catching the virus through contaminated employees who package or ship meals is near zero. However, interacting with contaminated grocery store or restaurant worker carries a higher risk. 5. Eating outdoors is best compared to indoors. Indoors is fine if social distancing table placements are done properly and waitstaff wear masks. Even better if you notice good air circulation indoors. 6. Bars are riskier than restaurants because it is harder to control people standing, shifting around and shouting. 7. No outbreak has been linked to public restrooms; however, using shared restrooms will increase the chance of being infected. Overall, go out. Just do it smartly and safely. During the summer, in about 7 to 10 minutes under a cloudless sky, cholesterol in your skin reacts with the shortwave UVB rays to produce as much as 1,000 international units (IUs) of vitamin D. In winter, everyone receives minimal UVB rays due to the tilt of the Earth. Older people have an even more difficult time making vitamin D, thanks to change in the skin. Ask your doctor about supplementing with vitamin D. In a review of 25 studies, people with low levels of vitamin D decreased their odds of respiratory infection by 42% by taking supplements. ** Trivia ------------------------------------------------------------ A: Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey Q: According to Greek mythology, who was the first woman on earth? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMOGaugKpzs ** This got us all singing out loud ------------------------------------------------------------ ============================================================ ** Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/preservewm) ** Twitter (https://twitter.com/preservewm) ** LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/preservewm/about/) Copyright © *|CURRENT_YEAR|* *|LIST:COMPANY|*, All rights reserved.
