Sweeping retirement reforms were passed into law last month after the SECURE Act, which passed the House last summer, made its way through the Senate and was signed into law by the President.
Of the most notable financial planning changes:
* Inherited IRAs can no longer be "stretched" across the recipient's lifetime ... they must now be emptied within 10 years.
* The IRA mandatory distribution age increases from 70 1/2 to 72
* 10% early withdrawal penalty waived for childbirth and adoption
