Like millions of other Americans, we have already made plans, reservations, and purchases for upcoming Spring and/or Summer trips. Now with COVID-19, plans are changing. I have found that hotel, tour, and restaurant reservations have been easier to cancel with full refunds. However, airline tickets are an entirely different animal.
Below is a link on tips to get refunds on airline tickets that you need to cancel during ordinary times. However, for COVID-19, several airlines have waived change fees and updated refund policies. If you have travel plans in the coming months, it’s likely no fee will apply to make a one-time change in plans. If you would like to cancel and your airline isn’t offering a full cash refund at this time, it’s best to wait as long as possible to see if your flights gets canceled as airlines are adjusting schedules drastically in this uncertain time.
