Your Life
Like going to the dentist, going to an auto repair shop causes stress in many people. It’s not physical pain (or maybe it can be) but monetary pain in paying with little awareness or knowledge of what is being repaired. Worse yet, shops now recommend repairs, so it makes it seem like you are part of the process, but most are still totally clueless on whether they are paying for something unnecessary (like early maintenance) or overpaying for parts and repairs. Sometimes, I think I need to take a course on car repairs to be fully armed with information. However, since that is not possible for most, like me, here is a list that can help you find the right repair shop. Another tip to add to the list is to get recommendations from friends and family.
