Your Life
People tend to overlook little things that can dramatically improve physical health such as the simple act of stretching. Incorporating a stretching routine, even in as little as 10 minutes per day, can offer powerful health benefits that include mitigating chronic pain, improving range of motion, and reducing joint stiffness. Stretching can increase your flexibility, help prevent injuries, improve posture, and elongate muscles. It can also benefit your mental capabilities such as relaxing your mind, centering your breathing, and allowing for a more peaceful sleep, especially if you remove distractions and focus on the present. Stretching can be dynamic, meaning a movement-based type of stretching that uses the muscles themselves to bring about a stretch or static which is a basic stretch such as holding a pose for several seconds and not moving. Start slow and build up over time so that you do not cause pain or injury. Definitely consult with an expert like a trainer, if you are unsure how to start.
